Motorsports Company started in 1944 as part of J.S. Inskip Motors NY., NY. Changed name to Competition Engineering in 1954 to reflect separation from Rolls-Royce Distributorship and Dealerships. Competition Engineering moved to Providence, RI in 1954 to be located closer to the new Inskip Dealership which specialized in the sale of Morris, MG, Austin, and BMC Vehicles sold and raced in the New England Region of the SCCA. Started making Drag Racing Safety and Suspension components in 1960 as the Hot Rod culture spread into the mainstream after the founding of the NHRA.
