2025 FIA WEC sporting and technical regulations approved

The sporting and technical regulations for the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship campaign have today (17 October) been approved by the FIA World Motor Sport Council in Paris.

In order to enhance the fan experience, ‘leader’ lights will be replaced by multi-colour LED display panels fitted on each side of the cars. These panels will offer wide viewing angles and will be capable of displaying a range of information, with more details to be released in due course.

The homologation period for Hypercar category cars has also been extended by two years until the end of the 2029 season, while the minimum driving time for competitors to score points in FIA WEC races has been reduced from 60 minutes to 45.

Additionally, moving forward, each Hypercar manufacturer must nominate two cars to score points towards the World Championship.
