About Chris Rice:
No stranger to all things NASCAR, Chris Rice was born and raised in South Boston, Va., and grew up at racetracks all around the sport. As a kid, his dad, Allan, and uncle started their own race team, and Rice immediately began working for the family team. This was just the start of Rice’s future NASCAR career.
In 1989, Rice worked as a gasman for the NASCAR Busch Grand National Series, now known as the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series (NOAPS). He worked closely with Hermie Sadler, who was named Rookie of the Year in 1993, and quickly moved on to win a championship in 1995 with Hermie’s brother Elliott. As a result of his accomplishments with the Sadler brothers, Rice became a well-known name in the industry, holding various titles in every elite series in NASCAR.
As Kaulig Racing opened its doors for the first time in 2016, Rice was named General Manager, before ultimately being promoted to team president in 2018, and Chief Executive Officer in 2025. Since then, Rice helped to build a championship-contending organization in the NOAPS, a two-charter NASCAR Cup Series team, and beginning in 2026, a five-truck team in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series under the RAM banner.
With a “whatever it takes” attitude and years of experience, Rice is driven to continue the success, as Kaulig Racing enters its 10th season in the sport.
