Craft-Bamboo Racing partners with Radical Motorsport to form Radical Japan

Craft-Bamboo Racing has launched a new partnership with Radical Motorsport to launch Radical Japan in the Japanese motorsport market. Radical Motorsport, the UK’s largest race car manufacturer, will bring the Radical SR3 XXR — the world’s best-selling purpose-built race car — and other Radical race car models to Japan. As the official distributor in Japan, Radical Japan will provide sales, technical and parts support, as well as exclusive racing experiences for motorsport enthusiasts across the country.

Craft-Bamboo Racing boasts an 11-year legacy in motorsport, competing at the highest levels across GT, touring car, prototype, and single seater series on the global stage. Over the years, the team has been appointed a factory supported team from multiple manufacturers, achieving success in prestigious racing events across Asia.

Beyond being home to some of the biggest names in the automotive industry, Japan thrives on diverse car communities, from high-performance tuning and drifting to competitive motorsport.

The country boasts a vast network of racetracks catering to all levels of competition, from globally renowned circuits hosting elite racing series to intimate, technical tracks that foster local racing talent. Among them, Suzuka Circuit in Mie Prefecture stands as an icon of Japanese motorsport, with its unique figure-eight layout and a storied history in Formula 1. Similarly the world-renowned Fuji Speedway, with its breathtaking views of Mount Fuji, hosts endurance events such as the Fuji 6 Hours and the Asian Le Mans Series. Circuits like Okayama, Tsukuba and Autopolis further enrich the landscape, providing venues for time attack competitions and club racing.

Radical’s arrival in Japan opens up exciting new opportunities for drivers seeking an accessible, high-performance race car designed to deliver pure driving thrills. For the wider global Radical community this partnership also opens up the potential opportunity for racers to tick off more bucket-list race circuits as part of Radical’s “Race The World” initiative, connecting drivers with their dealer partners and single-make Radical Cup championships worldwide.

This partnership marks Radical’s official entry into Japan, alongside its dealer network spanning 20+ countries and 14 single-make Radical Cup championships worldwide. Japanese fans can now look forward to exclusive events, experiences, and competitions in the near future. More details to be announced soon.

“This is an exciting project for Craft-Bamboo Racing as part of our company expansion into Japan,” said Darryl O’Young, Director: Radical Japan & Craft-Bamboo Racing. “Radical Motorsport develops exciting racing cars that are suitable for drivers of all levels. The SR3 XXR is perfect for new drivers, but also challenges the most experienced racing drivers. It’s a car for everyone, with a great price point and laps only a few seconds slower than a GT3 car. I drove our brand-new SR3 XXR demonstrator at the Magarigawa Club circuit last week in Chiba and it was phenomenal. We have a lot of exciting plans for Radical Japan, which will ensure customers have full support directly in Japan.”

Daniel Redpath, Chief Commercial Officer of Radical Motorsport, said: “We’re thrilled to partner with Craft-Bamboo Racing Japan to launch Radical Japan. Japan’s passion for precision engineering and grassroots racing makes it an ideal market for our cars. Whether it’s the ultra-competitive world of time attack racing or the long-standing culture of club-level motorsport, Japan is a nation that understands the thrill of high-performance driving. Radical Japan represents a tremendous opportunity to bring our purpose-built race cars to a new audience and create a unique racing ecosystem tailored to Japanese drivers.
