Expanded Porsche Sprint Challenge calendar revealed for 2027
Porsche Motorsport North America has announced the 2027 Porsche Sprint & Endurance Challenge North America by Yokohama calendars, continuing a tradition of competition at premier road racing venues across the United States while expanding Sprint Challenge to eight rounds.
The 2027 Porsche Sprint & Endurance Challenge North America by Yokohama calendars feature competition at eight premier road racing venues across the United States, highlighted by the debut of Laguna Seca, the return of Watkins Glen International, and an expanded eight-round Sprint Challenge schedule. The championship continues to offer racers a diverse mix of iconic circuits while maintaining the flexibility that has become a hallmark of the series.
As a key component of the North American Porsche Motorsport Pyramid, Porsche Sprint Challenge and Porsche Endurance Challenge continue to provide accessible competition opportunities for a wide range of Porsche racers. Stable entry fees, a variety of eligible Porsche platforms and a calendar designed to accommodate both full-season and event-based competitors reinforce the championships' commitment to customer racing.

The expanded 2027 calendar brings several notable additions to the Sprint & Endurance Challenge landscape, highlighted by Porsche Sprint Challenge North America's first visit to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
One of the most iconic circuits in North American motorsport, Laguna Seca joins a schedule that already features many of the country's premier road racing venues.
The championship also returns to Watkins Glen International, adding another historic stop to the calendar over the Independence Day weekend. Porsche Endurance Challenge North America will join Sprint Challenge at Watkins Glen, marking the first time the popular endurance series has competed at the legendary road course.
Porsche Endurance Challenge North America will once again contest events at Sebring International Raceway, Road America and Road Atlanta, with Road America the championship's marquee four-hour race.
Beyond the on-track action, the Laguna Seca and Barber Motorsports Park weekends will feature an all-Porsche atmosphere, bringing together Sprint Challenge competition and additional Porsche community activities throughout the event.

The debut of the Porsche 911 Cup (Type 992.2) in both Sprint & Endurance Challenge North America headlines the 2027 updates. Following its introduction in Carrera Cup North America this season, the latest-generation Cup car expands opportunities within the North American Porsche Motorsport Pyramid while providing competitors with another step in their development pathway.
Porsche's existing customer racing platforms will continue to play an integral role as well. The previous-generation Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (Type 992.1) and 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport will remain eligible for competition in both Sprint & Endurance Challenge in 2027, ensuring racers across multiple generations of Porsche machinery continue to have a home within the championships.
Beyond the addition of the new Cup car, Porsche Motorsport North America has introduced a revised championship format designed to provide racers with greater flexibility throughout the season.
For the first time, the championship will be decided using each competitor's best 14 results from the 16-race season. This allows every full-season entrant to drop their two lowest-scoring race results.
“The 2027 schedule was created with competitors and teams in mind,” Volker Holzmeyer, President & CEO of Porsche Motorsport North America, said.
“Many of these events line up with other events in the Porsche Motorsport pyramid, a benefit to teams who compete in multiple championships. The new point structure allows Sprint Challenge drivers the flexibility to balance their racing endeavors and still run for a championship.”
That competitor-first philosophy extends to the financial side of the championship as well. Per-event entry fees will remain unchanged for a third consecutive season, while full-season competitors will continue to receive preferred entry pricing, a complimentary drum of fuel at each event, annual hospitality and crew credentials, and an exclusive driver gift as the championship continues under USAC sanction and officiating in 2027.
