Familiar venues highlight 2025 CARS Tour schedule
Plenty of changes are in store for zMAX CARS Tour competitors as they prepare to tackle an eventful schedule headlined by familiar venues on different dates.
The 2025 CARS Tour calendar comprises 15 race weekends in total. Of these dates, 13 of them will be combination events between the CARS Late Model Stock Car and Pro Late Model divisions, with Wake County Speedway and Langley Speedway being the only standalone races for the former.
One of the most notable changes to the schedule is a return to Anderson Motor Speedway in Anderson, South Carolina. The 0.375-mile oval previously hosted two CARS Tour-sanctioned weekends from 2017-2018, meaning there are plenty of unknowns for competitors ahead of the Aug. 16 date at Anderson.
North Wilkesboro Speedway is the only venue with two events on the 2025 schedule. The CARS Tour will once again be part of NASCAR All-Star Race festivities at North Wilkesboro before both divisions return to the historic facility to settle their respective championships on Oct. 18.
Familiar events on the calendar include the return of the iconic CARS Tour Throwback at Hickory Motor Speedway, which is set to take place on Aug. 2. Late Model Stock competitors will have another opportunity to secure a pole position for the South Carolina 400 at Florence Motor Speedway by winning the track’s LMSC Tour race on Aug. 29.
Several facilities had their dates shuffled for the 2025 season. Instead of hosting a race in the summer, Wake County will now feature the CARS Tour at the end of March, while New River All-American Speedway moves back to March 1 as the season-opener for the LMSC and PLM Tour.
With the track’s new role on the schedule, New River becomes the sixth different track to open a CARS Tour season since the series’ inception in 2015. Other tracks that have held this honor include Tri-County Motor Speedway, Caraway Speedway and the defunct Concord Speedway.
Additional details about the 2025 zMAX CARS Tour schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.
