Formula 1 and the Racing Force Group sign agreement for new helmet camera

An agreement has been signed between the Racing Force Group and Formula 1 which will see the race series using Racing Force’s helmet camera technology during the 2023 World Championship.

Named Driver’s Eye, the microcamera is 8mm in diameter and weighs just 1.43g. The FIA-homologated camera is mounted at eye level on the protective padding inside a driver’s helmet to provide viewers with a first-person view of the inside of the car and the race circuit. Racing Force’s solution will be available to all drivers and helmet manufacturers during the 2023 season.

The company’s technology was fully showcased for the first time at the Santiago E-Prix in January ahead of being tested for the first time in Formula 1 in August 2021 with driver Fernando Alonso.
