Formula Drift announces 2025 event schedule and provisional driver line up
With the smoke only just dispersed from the 2024 Formula DRIFT Final Round at Irwindale Speedway last month, the series is already announcing both its 2025 event schedule and provisional driver line up.
The elephant in the room has to be the recent announcement that Irwindale Speedway will padlock its gates in 2025. Despite every PRO Championship battle being decided at the legendary House of DRIFT in the series’ 21-year history, Formula DRIFT must bid a sad farewell to the venue in 2025. Talks with officials for the replacement Southern California venue are well underway. And while signatures have yet to be inked on the dotted line, an announcement is expected shortly.
Aside from Irwindale, the 2025 Formula DRIFT PRO and PROSPEC Championship schedule retains the same venues as this year, taking advantage of the many recent track improvements carried out by the series.

2025 PROVISIONAL DRIVER LINE-UP
In addition to the 2025 schedule, the series has also announced the provisional driver line up for both PRO and PROSPEC Championships. All of the familiar names remain, joined by new license winners from other series.
The 2025 FD PRO Championship will welcome the top three finishers from this year’s PROSPEC Finals, including the new Champion Tommy Lemaire, as well as Connor O’Sullivan and veteran Austin Matta.
Another new arrival to the series will be Jack Shanahan from Ireland, who is a multiple Irish and British drift champion as well as a two-time runner-up in Drift Masters. He’s also the brother of Conor Shanahan, who made a big splash in FD PRO competition this year.
Another new name to watch is Luke Fink from Australia. The drift champion and YouTuber is determined to leave his mark on the 2025 FD PRO Championship as he’s done Down Under.
Currently, there are also a number of drivers petitioning to join PROSPEC, including a familiar name; Cameren Sorensen. The third and youngest Sorensen sibling, the 13 year-old is undoubtedly hoping to recreate the impact Amanda and Branden have achieved.
The PROSPEC entry list will be finalized shortly and all successful candidates notified.
