Formula E expands Driving Force STEM education program

Formula E and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund PIF have expanded their Driving Force educational initiative to bring “hands-on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and sustainability education into local schools” in the U.S, Saudi Arabia and the UK.

Driving Force, will engage with more than 50,000 students aged 8-18 before the end of this year, through interactive workshops, hands-on experiences, and online digital resources.

It began at Keys Gate Charter School in Miami this week with a hands-on workshop for 90 students, giving them access to explore a STEM career in the motorsport and sustainability areas.

“Since introducing the PIF E360 partnership last year, Formula E and PIF continue to look for opportunities to make a positive, real-world impact,” said Alejandro Agag, founder and chairman of Formula E, Extreme H and the E1 electric boat racing series. “Driving Force Presented by PIF is an example of how PIF is not only elevating motorsports but also inspiring the next generation of talent through STEM education, which plays a crucial role in inspiring future motorsport talent in sustainable mobility and green technology.”

Driving Force is part of the PIF’s wider work in advancing electric mobility and motorsport through its “E360” partnership which encompasses Formula E, Extreme H, and E1. It forms part of the “Supercharged” campaign which is focused on driving innovation and global progress by redefining the future of electric racing and driving technological innovation in the green technology field.
