Formula E moves logistics and development hub to Spain
The Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia has been chosen as the new logistical operations base for Formula E, as the series aims to improve logistics efficiency and sustainability. Its previous base was at Donington Park in the UK.
The new base is located near a major port and therefore offers sustainable freight routes across Europe and beyond, enabling Formula E to prioritize sustainable sea freight options, including ships powered by sustainable biofuel in collaboration with DHL, the championship’s Official Founding and Logistics Partner.
The circuit will also serve as a technology development center for future generations of race cars and offer additional Formula E track days for guests.
The relationship between the Valencia track and Formula E dates back to 2018 when it hosted pre-season testing and later a double-header of races.
Initially, the logistics base will operate from a temporary structure adjacent to the circuit’s public entrance, with accompanying office space. Formula E plans to move into permanent office and warehouse space to centralize and streamline its freight and technology development operations.
The circuit will also serve as the permanent test track and development center for Formula E, offering dedicated test sessions and offices.
