Goodyear to continue as title sponsor and exclusive tire supplier for FIA European Truck Racing Championship

Tire manufacturer Goodyear will maintain its title partnership and exclusive tire supply for the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship (ETRC) in 2024.
The seven-event championship, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, will take place in Italy, Slovakia, Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, France and Spain. The 2024 season will be the ninth consecutive year that Goodyear has served as the official partner and sole tire supplier.

To elevate safety standards in truck racing, Goodyear has also introduced an all-new tire compound for the ETRC, specifically designed to provide improved grip, especially in wet conditions.

Maciej Szymański, marketing director for Goodyear’s commercial business, said, “With the exciting news of FIA Motorsport Games featuring truck racing for the first time, we’re excited to be part of this international spectacle at Valencia in October.”

Given the diverse range of circuits – from dry tracks to wet, cold and hot surfaces — it can be a challenge to achieve optimal performance throughout the series. The new Goodyear truck racing tire aims to broaden the performance spectrum, with improved wet grip and durability.

The tire has been developed at Goodyear’s Innovation Center in Luxembourg, where engineers focused on optimizing the contact patch to encourage even wear and maximize performance over the tire’s lifespan. Testing took place at the Goodyear Proving Grounds, as well as at circuits such as Nürburgring, Most and Slovakia Ring.

After the races, the used truck racing tires will undergo a retreading process, giving them renewed purpose for transportation companies.
“As our exclusive tire supplier and title partner for the championship, Goodyear continues to push the boundaries of innovation in truck racing,” said Georg Fuchs, ETRA managing director.

“With the introduction of these next-generation tires, Goodyear reaffirms its position as a leader in both racing and commercial truck tire technology, driving the future of truck racing toward greater safety, performance and sustainability.”
