Hankook named as exclusive rally tire partner of the FIA Junior ERC
As the sole supplier of this season’s FIA Junior European Rally Championship, Hankook will supply its semi-slick Ventus Z215 and Dynapro R211 tires. The championship – which is for highly talented young rally drivers – is part of the FIA European Rally Championship.
Hankook’s high-end rally tires will be fitted to the 213ps, front-wheel-drive cars in the Rally4 category, which closely resemble production models. This season’s ERC calendar consists of eight rallies in eight European countries.
The FIA European Rally Championship was established in 1953 and is the oldest ongoing rally series in the world. Many drivers use the championship as an entry point to the World Rally Championship, including Walter Röhrl, who was crowned European Champion in 1974 and World Champion in 1982.
The FIA Junior ERC was launched in 2014 as a platform for talented young drivers to enable them to develop and gain experience at a competitive level.
The season begins in Poland on May 20-21 and concludes in Hungary on October 7-8. The drivers will also take on stages in Latvia in addition to asphalt routes in Italy and the Czech Republic. The winner of the season will be awarded a start in the 2024 FIA Junior World Rally Championship.
