Le Mans Coupes to offer 406ps Spartan track car
The mid-engined, street-legal Spartan track-day car is produced by Sydney, Australia-based twins Nick and Peter Pap. The vehicle benefits from a Rotrex supercharged 2.4-liter Honda K24 powertrain capable of producing 570ps per ton in its top-specification model.
Power is put to the tarmac via a 6-speed Quaife sequential or a 6-speed Honda manual gearbox, with stopping power provided by AP Racing discs. For excellent handling on track and road, the Spartan has been fitted with an active suspension system consisting of double wishbones and programmable TracTive ACE dampers. Providing safety for drivers and passengers is a steel spaceframe chassis that exceeds FIA safety standards. The frame can be enclosed in either glass-fiber or carbon-fiber bodywork that weighs under 20kg.
The Spartan is capable of 0-96km/h in 2.5 seconds and features a top speed of more than 249km/h. With its optimized aerodynamics, the vehicle can produce approximately 660 lb of downforce at 201km/h or 1,030 lb at its maximum speed.
For ultimate flexibility, the Spartan boasts a part trick and can be changed from right- to left-hand drive or vice versa in 30 minutes. Only 300 of the models will be produced worldwide.
