Midget chassis specs established for 2024

In cooperation with other midget sanctioning bodies, the United States Auto Club has established updated chassis specifications that will go into effect starting with the 2024 season.

Sanctioning bodies and events involved in the uniformity of the chassis specs include USAC NOS Energy Drink National, USAC Western States, Xtreme Outlaw and the Badger Midget Auto Racing Association.

Although no major changes have been made, this effort is to establish a baseline standard for all chassis manufacturers throughout all of midget racing.

USAC Competition Director Tommie Estes spearheaded the effort to align the series in agreeing to a chassis framework that will be utilized by major midget racing series moving forward.

“One of the main objectives I’ve taken on in my role with USAC is to create uniformity across all midget sanctioning bodies and organizations on this joint venture,” Estes stated.

Although the new chassis standards will not take effect until next season, for the balance of the 2023 season and upcoming offseason, USAC, Xtreme and Badger will offer sonic testing on current frames to verify tube thickness.
