NASCAR shifts postseason awards ceremony to Miami

The year-ending NASCAR Awards ceremony is shifting with the season’s final race to Miami this fall.

NASCAR announced Friday that its annual postseason awards show is moving to The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County. The event will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 10, just two days after the conclusion of the NASCAR Cup Series season. It will be live-streamed at 6 p.m. ET exclusively on the NASCAR Channel.

This will be the first time the NASCAR Awards have been held in the city, bringing the industry together to celebrate the newly-crowned champions of its Cup Series, O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and Craftsman Truck Series.

NASCAR historically held its year-ending banquet in New York City’s Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. The event shifted to Las Vegas from 2009 through 2018 before moving to Nashville for a brief stint from 2019 through 2023. The ceremony has changed venues in each of the past three years, coming to the sport’s home of Charlotte in 2024 before following the former Phoenix Raceway finale with an awards ceremony down the road in Scottsdale, Arizona, in 2025.

“The championship is the culmination of everything our drivers and teams work for all season, and we want the celebration that follows to feel just as big,” said Michael Verlatti, NASCAR vice president of event experience, in a series press release. “Miami is one of the world’s most dynamic cities, and it provides an incredible backdrop to celebrate our champions and bring the energy of Championship Weekend into a new setting.

“We’re excited to give our fans and industry a NASCAR Awards experience unlike any we’ve had before.”

The champions of the various NASCAR Regional Series and NASCAR International Series will be celebrated on Friday, Nov. 20 at North Carolina’s Charlotte Convention Center.
