NHRA releases 2023 Rule Book Amendment Updates; Clarifies neck collar, head sock, skirted helmet requirements

NHRA Releases 2023 Rulebook Amendment UpdatesThe NHRA Technical Department has released additional 2023 Rule Amendments. Unless otherwise noted in this document, these additional amendments will come into effect immediately. The 2023 NHRA Rulebook Amendments can be found under the Rules section of NHRARacer.com. 

These amendments include the following changes…

  • Division 2 office address updated.

  • Beginning 1/01/2024, Head and Neck Restraint for all cars over 150 MPH or faster, or 7.49 or quicker.

  • Clarification that neck collar, head sock, or skirted helmet must be used with a head and neck restraint. 

  • Beginning 1/01/24, Pro Stock Motorcycle Leather Suits must be dated and expire in 5 years.

  • Top Fuel/Funny Car Lifter Bore limited to 1.125 inch.
