Peter Gallagher joins Extreme E as Commercial Director

With over 12 years in the sports industry, Gallagher brings a wealth of commercial experience to the role.

Passionate about sports from a young age, Gallagher was training to become a professional triathlete when he secured his first role in the commercial team at Fulham Football Club before going on to work in a variety of business development roles at the likes of Manchester City F.C., IRONMAN and, most recently, as Head of Partnership Development at Arsenal F.C.

Extreme E, now in its third season, is often described as a motorsport championship like no other. Already involving some of the biggest names in the industry such as Jenson Button, Nico Rosberg, Carlos Sainz Sr and motorsport giants, McLaren, Andretti and Chip Ganassi, the series competes in some of the world’s most aggressive and challenging environments. Using the power of sport to raise awareness around climate change and promote diversity, Extreme E also leaves a lasting positive legacy in the areas where it races.

Upon his appointment, Peter Gallagher said: “I am thrilled to be joining Extreme E in the newly created Commercial Director role with the remit to help take the series to the next level targeting new race locations and even more industry-leading partnerships. I am looking forward to working with our stellar roster of current partners, those who are yet to join the family, and the whole Extreme E team to help push the agenda for environmental sustainability, equality and innovation forward.”

Ali Russell, Chief Marketing Officer of Extreme E, expressed his enthusiasm for Gallagher's appointment, stating:“We're delighted to welcome Peter to the Extreme E team. With his wealth of experience in sports and commercial partnerships, I'm confident that he will be instrumental in taking the championship to new heights. His vision and dedication align perfectly with our core values, and I look forward to working with him to build a sustainable, successful future for Extreme E.”

Extreme E is currently preparing for the second round of Season 3, the Hydro X Prix, taking place 13-14 May in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, which will be aired live on ITV1 and STV1 in the UK.
