SRO Motorsports and the University of Texas announce groundbreaking Executive Education Collaboration: GT RACEXE
SRO Motorsports Group, the global leader in GT racing, is proud to announce a formal collaboration with The University of Texas at Austin, marking a new era in executive education within motorsports. This partnership builds on the success of the GT Business Forum, originally launched in May 2024 with the guidance of the prestigious University. This next chapter will introduce GT RACEXEC, a cutting-edge executive education series designed to provide business leaders with invaluable insights directly from the world of motorsports.
GT RACEXEC is based on the Winning! Leadership Accelerator Program currently offered through The University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business and Texas Executive Education. The series will take place across a variety of SRO’s premier racing events across the country, including the rounds at Circuit of The Americas, Barber Motorsports Park, and Indianapolis Motor Speedway, offering participants an immersive experience that blends world-class business education with the high-stakes environment of professional GT racing.
The specialized GT RACEXEC program is exclusively available for SRO America teams, partners, and sponsors, presenting them with a unique opportunity to deepen and diversify their industry knowledge and expertise.
A New Approach to Leadership and Business Execution
GT RACEXEC is designed to enhance participants’ ability to align strategy, decision-making, organization, and talent to drive successful execution and develop skill sets. The program will provide business leaders with the knowledge and competencies needed to:
- Develop strategies to triumph in a dynamic and competitive world.
- Make data-driven decision-making a core competency.
- Build and sustain high-performing teams and a winning culture.
- Drive execution through effective organizational and operational design.
An Immersive and Interactive Learning Experience
GT RACEXEC consists of a highly interactive and immersive format, ensuring that participants not only engage with top-tier faculty members from the McCombs School of Business but will also apply their learning in real-world racing environments. The opportunity to interact with highly experienced department members, all of whom bring extensive business experience as current and former C-suite executives and trusted advisers, is a unique offering that truly sets GT RACEXEC apart.
The program integrates racing simulation exercises to reinforce classroom lessons, providing a hands-on approach to business strategy and execution. By leveraging the intensity and precision required to succeed in motorsports, GT RACEXEC delivers a distinct perspective on leadership, adaptability, and decision-making under pressure.
Recognized Business Certificate
Upon successful completion of the full GT RACEXEC program, participants will receive an official Certificate of Business Excellence. This prestigious credential signifies mastery of key business principles and executive leadership skills, reinforcing the value of the program as a transformative learning experience for business professionals.
A Partnership of Excellence
“This is such a unique collaboration between SRO Motorsports and the McCombs School of Business,” said Gaylen Paulson, Ph.D., Associate Dean and Executive Director at Texas Executive Education and McCombs School of Business. “There are a variety of ideas and lessons that emerge at the intersection of high-performance racing and business. These programs are an amazing opportunity to reflect, explore, and to think differently about what it takes to perform at the highest levels.”
“There is no better industry to learn how to lead in a dynamic environment than motorsports,” added Donald Ruse, Assistant Professor of Instruction at McCombs School of Business and Faculty Director of the Winning! Leadership Accelerator Program. “Pinnacle series race teams in SRO exemplify how organizations and their leaders should develop and adapt strategy, make informed decisions, and build cultures of performance and excellence to consistently win. We are very excited to bring these lessons from the cockpit to the C-suite for SRO’s paddock members.”
“The GT RACEXEC program continues the University's long tradition of innovation in education and execution,” echoed Greg Gill, President of SRO America. “We are proud to be collaborating with the University of Texas on this project. As the global leader in GT racing, we focus on constant improvements to our existing processes as well as asking ‘what if’ questions to ensure that our industry and business are always moving forward as fast as possible. We are excited to drop the green flag on this project with U.T. and deliver the results that their programs and ours are known for.”
