Thursday's World of Outlaws Late Model Dairyland Showdown cancelled due to weather

With weather models showing heavy rain Wednesday night in Fountain City, WI and more expected throughout the day on Thursday, World of Outlaws CASE Construction Equipment Late Model and Mississippi Thunder Speedway officials agreed to cancel Thursday’s portion of the Dairyland Showdown to preserve the facility for racing on Friday and Saturday.

Officials worked with Precision Weather Service to help aid in the decision to cancel Thursday’s race. Friday and Saturday’s racing programs have not been affected and are scheduled to continue.

With Thursday’s cancelation, Friday and Saturday’s Features have been split into 50-lap races that pay $25,000-to-win. Drivers will now receive $1,750-to-start each night.

Local division Modifieds will join the Late Models once again for the two nights.

New Berlin, IL driver Brandon Sheppard shows the way in the World of Outlaws CASE Late Models standings with Chris Madden, Nick Hoffman, Cade Dillard, and Tyler Bruening following suit in the top-five.

Pit gates will open at 3 p.m. (CT) and grandstands open at 5 p.m. Hot Laps begin at 6:30 p.m., with racing to follow after in the two nights of racing in the Badger State.
