Toyota reveals TR010 Hypercar

Toyota has shown off its 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship Hypercar, the TR010, as part of a broader shift in identity for its European R&D operation.

The 2026 TR010 is an evolution of the highly successful LMH-spec GR010 prototype, sporting a brand-new aero package that the Japanese marque hopes will return it to winning ways in the WEC and also reflect the styling of its newest road-going models.

The updates come after the multiple Le Mans and WEC title-winning team's toughest campaign in the series to date in 2025, which netted just one win in the season finale at Bahrain back in November.

As well as a new aero kit – which the team's technical director, David Floury, previously told RACER should improve the car's consistency and "make it easier to drive" – the livery has changed too. The predominantly black color scheme utilised during the 2024 and '25 seasons is gone, replaced by a new red and white design that pays homage to the iconic GT-One, which raced in the late '90s.

The shift in identity for Toyota's Hypercar coincides with a wider change in the division responsible for the WEC operation. Toyota has changed the name of the European research and development center and subsidiary "Toyota Gazoo Racing Europe GmbH" (based in Cologne, Germany) to "Toyota Racing GmbH."

In sporting terms, it means the Hypercar team will revert to competing under the Toyota Racing banner, after utilizing the Toyota Gazoo Racing moniker in the top class between 2016 and 2025.
