Trackhouse, Pitbull end partnership
Trackhouse Racing and Armando Pérez, known better as Pitbull, have ended their partnership.
The abrupt and surprising split came via social media.
“Ending partnership with Trackhouse Racing,” Pitbull posted. “Over the past five years, we’ve made history by introducing NASCAR to a whole new audience and falling in love with NASCAR fans at the same time. We have made the decision to terminate the partnership with Trackhouse Racing, effective immediately.
“We’re looking forward to performing on the sport’s biggest stage this Sunday, the Daytona 500. It is a true honor, Dale!”
Pitbull is performing the pre-race concert before Sunday’s season-opening Daytona 500.
Justin Marks, who founded Trackhouse Racing, welcomed Pitbull into the fold in 2021 when the team was formed. It wasn’t uncommon to see Pitbull at the racetrack or incorporating racing into his music. He released an album titled “Trackhouse” in 2023, and Daniel Suarez drove a themed car at Dover Motor Speedway the same season.
Trackhouse Racing fields three full-time cars in the Cup Series for Ross Chastain, Shane van Gisbergen, and Suarez. The organization has eight career wins in the Cup Series since its debut season.
The team posted on its official social media page, “We’re honored and humbled that Pitbull has chosen to take this journey with Trackhouse. Thank you for all you’ve done and good luck on your next venture! DALE!!!”
And from Marks, “This is a great business story. Armando came in when we had no certainty of any material success and took a chance to help build a brand. Now that we’ve scaled up and have new partners, he’s been able to be rewarded for the impact he’s made. A great investment on both ends. Excited to see what he does next! DALE!”
