Weekend rain, cold temperatures cancel World of Outlaws at 81, Arrowhead

With Precision Weather Service models projecting heavy rain beginning Thursday night and lasting through nearly the entire weekend in both Park City, KS and Colcord, OK, expecting to bring more than an inch of precipitation to 81 Speedway and Arrowhead Speedway and forecasted cold temperatures preventing any potential track drying efforts, World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series and track officials have agreed to cancel both the Wichita Sprint Car Showdown and Jason Johnson Classic presented by FK Rod Ends.

If you purchased a ticket online in advance for either race, you will receive a face-value credit to your MyDirtTickets.com account – good for two years – to be used toward any World of Outlaws event available at WorldofOutlaws.com/tix. If a credit to your account does not work for you, then you have until November 23 to request a refund.

If you purchased a ticket or pit pass at 81 Speedway on March 29 before the event was postponed, the ticket or wristband must be mailed to 7575 W Winds Blvd NW Ste. D Concord, NC 28027 in an envelope postmarked by November 23 to receive a refund.

The Series now shifts its focus to the season-concluding World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte on Nov. 5-8. For tickets, CLICK HERE.

David Gravel currently sits atop the standings as he closes on a second straight title with Michael “Buddy” Kofoid and Carson Macedo behind him.

If you can’t make it to the track, catch every lap live on DIRTVision.
