When activated by water, then stored in an ice chest or refrigerator, pads can reach near-freezing temperatures. They will gradually return to 20 degrees below room temperature before having to be recooled.

If they’re used frequently, you can store the pads in a refrigerator or ice chest. If only used occasionally, hang-dry them until you're ready to reuse them; to reactivate, soak the pads for one hour before using them again.
