Performance Damper for High Performance Gen III HEMI Builds
Fluidampr announces the release of Performance Damper p/n 720361 for naturally aspirated Dodge / Chrysler / Jeep Gen III HEMI-powered cars and SUVs. Designed for high-performance street and racing applications, the damper combines broad-RPM-range crankshaft torsional vibration control with a removable 6-rib accessory drive pulley featuring a dry sump mandrel mounting provision, plus future crank trigger and accessory drive flexibility. Developed using OEM-level torsional vibration analysis methodology through parent division Vibratech TVD, testing conducted with Scoggin Dickey Parts Center Raceshop demonstrated an average reduction in crankshaft torsional vibration of 8% over stock elastomer damper tested, 13% over clutch-style damper tested, and 4% over O-ring style damper tested.
The 7-1/4” steel housing viscous damper is designed for durability in high-horsepower street and racing applications and features a removable 6-3/8” diameter, 6-rib aluminum accessory drive pulley. The pulley incorporates three pre-drilled 3/8-16 UNC 28 bolt holes on a 3.20” bolt circle for common-sized dry sump oil system mandrel mounting.
The damper comes in a corrosion-resistant, RoHS compliant black zinc finish along with laser engraved SFI 18.1 certification markings, while the pulley is black anodized, both for timeless appearance in street and racing environments.
Unlike tuned elastomer dampers optimized for narrow frequency ranges, Fluidampr’s viscous damping design provides broad RPM range torsional vibration control without tuning or maintenance.
