The benefits of better ring sealing by using gas ported pistons have been recognized for decades. The challenge? Gas ports lose efficiency over time and create stress risers in the piston that can lead to catastrophic engine failure. Total Seal® solves these problems by relocating the gas ports from the piston top to the top rings. The result is an increase in Horsepower and Torque over conventional rings without the negative effects associated with traditional gas ported pistons.
Improved ring-to-wall-sealing is the main goal for our Gas-Ported Rings, but another benefit is longer oil life. With improved sealing comes less blow-by which reduces the amount of carbon that reaches the oil, thus increasing the life of the engine oil.
