2025 edition of the Sustainable Championships Index™
Enovation Consulting in collaboration with Professor Paolo Taticchi, Professor of Strategy and Sustainability at UCL School of Management, has published the fourth edition of the Sustainable Championships Index™ (SChI™) part of the Sustainable Motorsport IndexTM (SMITM).
In line with previous iterations of the index, the 2025 SChI™ is a first of its kind industry benchmark ranking the sustainability actions and commitments of 91 twoand four-wheels global motorsport championships based on 25 industry-specific criteria spread across six categories using a well-established benchmark. The data collection and analysis for the SChI™ were conducted by Enovation Consulting between the 1st December 2023 and 30th November 2024 under the guidance of Professor Paolo Taticchi to ensure research and analytical rigor.
The 2025 edition of the SChI™ sees ABB FIA Formula E World Championship retain pole position as the world’s most sustainable motorsport championship, with FIA Formula One World Championship coming in second place and FIM Grand Prix World Championship (MotoGP) finishing third.
The FIA European Rallycross Championship, FIA World Rally Championship and FIA European Rallycross gained the most points in this year’s edition, demonstrating the elevation of their sustainability credentials.
The Asian Le Mans Series moved up 49 places in this year’s index, with the FIM Speedway of Nations, the FIM Speedway Under 21 World Championship, and the European Le Mans Series all improving their rankings by 46 places.
This year’s SChI™ highlights the increasing sustainability commitment across motorsport’s championships with 26 championships gaining points compared to last year’s index.
