Purst Panel Diverter Aluminum Chimney Split
The PSI Rear Chimney is machined on a 5 axis machine in order to get to the necessary angles on the inside of the piece. Note: the square area of the burst panel exit = 10.5 square inches, and area out = 11.83 square inches which reduces flow restrictions. Area is everything in minimizing flow restrictions during a catastrophic failure. As the blower burst panels are typically the first to expire (on a Screw type), it is important to increase the area for the extreme amount of pressure trying to escape the exit from the burst panels. Racers and crew know very well how much damage can occur when a backfire occurs. Not only the relief panels fail, but the blower will also get launched causing more damage.
