Nissan GTR R35 — Front Tubular Subframe — WAS-300
Nissan GT-R R35 tubular lightweight subframe with a 40% mass reduction from the OEM front subframe, which weighs 48.20 lbs (21.85 kg).
Below, you'll find additional pictures of the subframe and some of the cars that use it.
Our lightweight tubular subframe is based on a 3D scan of the OEM subframe, fully CAD-designed, and rigorously tested using the Finite Element Method (FEM). It is constructed from T45 tubing (BS4 T45 to BS5T100 / BS6S100).
The cross-member is completely TIG welded by hand, ensuring absolute quality control, using a special Lincoln Electric TIG wire that matches the tubing's tensile and yield properties.
Features:
- Weighs 13.1 kg / 28.88 lbs, which is 40% lighter than the OEM subframe (a savings of 8.75 kg / 19.3 lbs).
- Constructed from T45 (BS4 T45 to BS5T100 / BS6S100) tubing imported from the UK and S355 metal sheets.
- All components are TIG welded.
- Delivered painted (powder-coated) in black, or any RAL color on special order.
- Features two front anti-roll bar mounting points; an additional set of points 20 mm forward to allow clearance for dry sump oil piping.
- Provides additional space for easy removal of extended oil pans.
- Compatible with the Magnus dry sump kit.
- Easier servicing thanks to improved access to the underbody.
- Compatible with OEM or aftermarket undertray.

T45 tubing is a unique, seamless carbon-based steel tube used in various industries. It is stronger than 4130 Chromoly tubing, which is also used in motorsport. T45 is widely used in the aerospace sector, including in pilot and crew seats, due to its ability to withstand high G-forces without snapping or splitting. This material is carbon-manganese based and conforms to the full aerospace specifications laid down by British Standards. Properties for T45 are: Tensile: 700 – 900 MPa, 0.2% Yield: 620 MPa minimum, Hardness Test: 201 min – 262 max HB or 210 min – 275 max HV. We also use S355 metal sheets in the subframe.
The dimensions of the subframe are 964.8 x 844.5 x 168.8 mm (length x width x height).
Notice: Sold only for off-road, race track, and racing applications. If the buyer wishes to use the parts elsewhere, it is their responsibility to arrange the appropriate documentation. We strongly advise mounting the subframe in a qualified and experienced workshop.
