Larry Foyt, Michelle Collins, and Brent Cox elected to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum
Larry Foyt, Michelle Collins, and Brent Cox have been elected to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum's board of directors.
Larry Foyt is president of A.J. Foyt Enterprises, Inc., managing the day-to-day operations of AJ Foyt Racing. During his tenure, he oversaw the team’s expansion from a one-car team into a two-car team in the NTT IndyCar Series. He also purchased and oversaw the renovation of a multi-purpose team facility in Speedway.
In 2015, in partnership with his cousin A.J. Foyt IV, he co-founded the Foyt Wine Vault next to the race shop, which has become a popular staple in the local community. He gained experience with museums after opening the Foyt Winery & Museum in Texas in 2021, which displays race cars and artifacts from the Foyt family. The businessman began his career as a race car driver, competing in three Indianapolis 500s (2004-2006) as well as four years in NASCAR.
“I am honored to serve on the board of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum. Visiting the Museum as a kid at the Indy 500 was always on my list of favorites, and I have many lasting memories of my experiences there. Now to see what this group has accomplished in renovating the Museum into a modern, award-winning destination is truly remarkable,” Foyt said.
“I'm looking forward to working with this dedicated group and continuing the progress of this institution that is integral to motorsports on a global scale.”
Michelle Collins is the global director of marketing and public relations for BorgWarner. In this role, she leads the global corporate marketing team, overseeing digital and web marketing, press and media relations, social media strategy, external communications, enterprise brand strategy, tradeshows and events, trademarks, and BorgWarner’s longstanding partnership with IndyCar and the Indianapolis 500. Crain’s named Collins to its list of Notable Leaders in Marketing in 2023.
In addition to her corporate responsibilities, Collins is actively engaged in industry and community leadership. Besides serving on the Museum’s board, she is a member of the Detroit Regional Chamber’s MichAuto Talent & Awareness Committee, and serves on the Lawrence Technological University Advisory Board for the College of Business and Information Technology, where she received her master's degree.
"I am deeply honored to join the board of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum. The Museum stands as a testament to the rich heritage and enduring spirit of motorsports, and I am excited to work alongside passionate individuals who are also committed to preserving and sharing its remarkable history,” Collins said. “Together, I look forward to helping inspire future generations and celebrating the legacy of racing at this truly iconic venue."
Brent Cox is an Indianapolis resident and graduate of Ball State University who founded CG CPAs, a certified public accounting and business consulting firm. He’s been a passionate motorsports fan since he was a child, and now has his own USAC team, Abacus Racing, headquartered in Indianapolis. The team, founded in 2021, has already seen success, winning the 2023 USAC National Midget Championship and 2024 USAC National Sprint Car Championship.
Cox has been involved in many other areas of motorsports as well, including the promotion of the 2011-2013 Milwaukee IndyCar races and serving as the founder and managing partner of Forecheck Marketing, an entity formed to manage hospitality suites at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and other venues.
