Overrunning track work forces postponement of Imola ELMS round
Le Mans Endurance Management (LMEM), the organizer of the European Le Mans Series (ELMS), the Michelin Le Mans Cup and the Ligier European Series, has been forced to postpone the second round of its 2023 season, the 4 Hours of Imola, which was due to take place on Sunday, May 7.
Over the winter, a series of improvements had been planned to the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari. However, delays to the scheduled completion of these works at the circuit have led LMEM to take the decision to postpone the race.
The improvement works to the paddock and garage complex at Imola were due to have been completed by the middle of April, but delays to the project mean the circuit won’t be ready to receive the teams from the European Le Mans Series, Michelin Le Mans Cup, Ligier European Series and Lamborghini Super Trofeo as planned.
LMEM says it is urgently working to find an alternative solution with the circuit management and competitors.
