Toyota Gazoo Racing and Toyo Tire continue partnership for W2RC 2026

Toyo Tire and Toyota Gazoo Racing W2RC (TGR W2RC) have announced that they will continue their motorsport partnership, with a Toyota DKR GR Hilux driven by Toyo brand ambassador Takashi Miura and fitted with a specially tuned Open Country M/T-R tire, competing in the Ultimate class of the 2026 World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC) off-road competition.

The W2RC is the world’s premier off-road rally competition series and is recognized by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) and the International Federation of Motorcycling (FIM).

The long-distance rally, which requires drivers to respond to ever-changing road conditions, from hard rocky terrain to soft sand and slippery mud, consists of five races a year in the Middle East, Africa and Europe and starts with the Dakar Rally in January.

Miura, who is a brand ambassador for the Open Country tire range, will join the competition for its second round, the BP Ultimate Rally Raid in Portugal, which will take place on March 17-22.
