Veloce becomes first team to confirm Extreme H program
Veloce has announced its intentions to compete in the FIA Extreme H World Cup, the world’s first hydrogen-powered motorsport competition, becoming the first time to publicly confirm its plans for 2025.
The British team competed in Extreme H’s predecessor Extreme E from its inception until the fourth season was halted after four rounds last season – at a point where Veloce was leading the championship with Molly Taylor and Kevin Hansen after taking back-to-back victories in Scotland. The pair also won three times in 2023 en route to third in the final standings.
“Extreme E was an amazing platform for drawing attention to environmental issues and driving change,” said Daniel Bailey, CEO of Veloce Media Group and E.ON Next Veloce Racing. “We’re proud to say that Veloce played an active role in that mission, taking part in many of Extreme E’s legacy programs, while racing at the highest level, bringing home five X Prix wins and topping the leaderboard in Season 4.
“The FIA Extreme H World Cup offers an opportunity to continue all of that work. It isn’t just a matter of educating about climate change but also shining a light on sustainable solutions, and hydrogen is looking like a strong candidate in the development of the automotive industry.

Spark recently completed the production of 10 Pioneer 25 race cars that will be used in Extreme H following an intensive testing program that began in 2024. Veloce is the first team to explicitly state its intentions to compete in the competition, and comes after Roxberg X Racing, champions of the first and third seasons of Extreme E confirmed it would not be participating. Nevertheless, RACER understands a number of other former Extreme E teams remain in talks to sign up.
