Demolition Entertainment Motorsports Organization (DEMO) Expands Frontier of Motorsports Entertainment at EPARTRADE’s 5th Annual Race Industry Week

Dustin Woods, CEO and Founder of DEMOLITION ENTERTAINMENT MOTORSPORTS ORGANIZATION (DEMO), delivered an electrifying glimpse into the future of demolition derby during EPARTRADE’s 5th Annual Race Industry Week. With a bold vision for transforming demolition racing into a premier motorsport, Woods shared insights on safety, competition, and the sport’s evolving ecosystem.

Bringing Structure and Excitement to the "UFC with Cars"

Founded with the aim of professionalizing and expanding demolition derby, DEMO is carving a path to legitimacy in motorsports. Woods highlighted the sport’s stringent safety rules, dynamic competition format, and its focus on building a star-driven ecosystem.

“We’re not just crashing cars. These vehicles are engineered for combat with up to $50,000 invested in builds,” Woods explained. “This is a sport with precision, strategy, and passion—a true battle on wheels.”

Bristol Motor Speedway: A Colossal Debut

DEMO’s marquee event at Bristol Motor Speedway in October 2024 showcased the scale of its ambitions. Featuring $200,000 in prize money across two classes, the event drew nationwide attention.

“The last great coliseum was the perfect stage for our debut,” said Woods. “With a $100,000 purse in each class, we demonstrated the competitiveness and entertainment value of our sport. It was a monumental moment for DEMO.”

Safety as a Core Priority

Acknowledging the sport’s inherent risks, Woods emphasized the organization’s commitment to safety. While current standards include steel-reinforced chassis and advanced drivetrain protection, Woods envisions further enhancements.

“We’re working toward mandating fire suits, onboard extinguishers, and other safety measures,” he said. “Safety regulations in motorsports are often written in blood, and we’re determined to lead the way before incidents occur.”

Expanding the DEMO Circuit

With an estimated 2,500 demolition derby events annually across the U.S., DEMO seeks to unify the fragmented sport by creating a structured pathway from local events to national competition.

“Our mission is to establish a clear trajectory for competitors, starting at county fairs and youth classes and progressing to premier events,” Woods stated. “In 2025, we’ll host two to three major events, including a likely return to Bristol and an expansion to the western U.S.”

Leveraging Partnerships and Content for Growth

Woods acknowledged the critical role of content and partnerships in building DEMO’s future. Collaborations with SpeedSport’s derbynation.tv have provided pay-per-view access to events, while the pursuit of strategic investors aims to accelerate the sport’s growth trajectory.

“We see ourselves as the next big thing in motorsports entertainment, akin to the UFC or WWE,” Woods remarked. “Content is king, and we’re working to educate audiences, attract investors, and showcase the incredible talent in this sport.”

A Vision for the Future

Looking ahead, Woods sees DEMO as more than a motorsport—it’s a platform for storytelling, innovation, and community building.

“This is a sport with heart, grit, and unparalleled entertainment value,” Woods concluded. “We’re ready to take demolition derby to the next level and solidify its place on the global motorsports stage.”
