Jeff Dickerson Highlights Spire Motorsports’ Meteoric Rise and Future Goals at EPARTRADE’s 5th Annual Race Industry Week

Jeff Dickerson, Co-owner of Spire Motorsports and CEO of Spire Holdings, shared the remarkable growth story of his NASCAR team and its vision for the future during EPARTRADE’s 5th Annual Race Industry Week. From its unorthodox entry into team ownership to becoming a competitive force in NASCAR, Spire Motorsports embodies a culture of resilience, innovation, and ambition.

The Unlikely Beginnings of Spire Motorsports

What started as an accidental foray into NASCAR ownership has transformed into a thriving race team. Spire Motorsports, founded on the agency roots of Spire Sports and Entertainment, purchased its first charter from Furniture Row Racing in a fortuitous turn of events.

“We were brokering a deal for Furniture Row’s charter when the opportunity presented itself to take the leap,” Dickerson recalled. “It was one of those moments where you just have to shoot your shot.”

A Year of Growth and Bold Moves

Over the past year, Spire Motorsports has cemented its place in the NASCAR paddock, highlighted by:
  • Carson Hocevar’s Rookie of the Year win
  • The acquisition of Kyle Busch Motorsports
  • Strategic hires, including Michael McDowell, Justin Haley, and legendary crew chief Rodney Childers
  • Moving into a state-of-the-art facility
“Our goal isn’t just improvement—it’s winning,” Dickerson said. “The progress we made in 2023 has set a high bar, but our 2024 moves are aimed at achieving even greater success in 2025.”

The Heart of Spire: A Unique Culture

Dickerson credits much of Spire Motorsports’ success to its people and an authentic, supportive culture. Renowned crew chief Rodney Childers specifically cited Spire’s workplace environment as a key factor in his decision to join the team.

“At Spire, valuing our people isn’t just a slogan—it’s our foundation,” Dickerson emphasized. “We believe in our team, and that belief fosters a culture where everyone feels they belong.”

Strategic Growth with a Balanced Team

Spire Motorsports enters 2025 with a well-rounded driver lineup that includes:
  • Michael McDowell, a proven leader and Daytona 500 champion
  • Justin Haley, a familiar face returning to the team with championship aspirations
  • Carson Hocevar, an exciting young talent poised for continued success
Supported by a crew chief roster featuring Rodney Childers, Luke Lambert, and Travis Peterson, Spire Motorsports is well-equipped to meet its heightened expectations.

The Importance of Partnerships and Alliances

Spire Motorsports’ alliance with Hendrick Motorsports has been instrumental in its evolution. Dickerson spoke warmly of the partnership, describing it as a two-way street.

“Our goal is not just to benefit from the alliance but to contribute to the program,” Dickerson said. “The commitment from Rick Hendrick and his team to our success is humbling and invaluable.”

A Vision for the Future

Looking ahead, Dickerson envisions Spire Motorsports continuing to grow into a championship-caliber organization while maintaining its authenticity.

“Our long-term goal is to win championships while remaining deeply connected to our roots and culture,” he said. “We’re here to make a lasting impact in NASCAR.”

The Power of Sponsorships

Spire’s origins as a marketing agency give it a unique edge in securing partnerships. Dickerson emphasized NASCAR’s unmatched value for sponsors, citing high ROI and direct consumer engagement.

“NASCAR sponsorship is still the best value in professional sports,” he said. “Our team’s relentless approach to sales and marketing ensures we’re always connecting with companies and growing our ecosystem.”
