Kyle Larson Reflects on a Stellar 2024 Season and Exciting Prospects for 2025

Kyle Larson, the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series Champion, and one of motorsports' most versatile drivers, shared insights into his remarkable 2024 season and plans for 2025 during an exclusive interview at EPARTRADE's 5th Annual Race Industry Week. Larson, who competes in NASCAR, sprint cars, late models, and IndyCar, discussed his passion for grassroots racing, the evolution of High Limit Racing, and his pursuit of excellence on and off the track.

A Season of Triumphs and Redemption

Larson’s 2024 season was marked by six NASCAR Cup wins, including triumphs at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Charlotte Motor Speedway. “Winning at the Brickyard felt like destiny,” Larson said. “The circumstances, strategy, and everything falling into place made it incredibly special.”

Despite narrowly missing the Championship 4, Larson expressed pride in his team’s consistency. “From race one to race 38, we had incredible speed. While we didn’t take home the championship, our performance proved we were one of the best teams all year,” he added.

High Limit Racing: Elevating Grassroots Motorsports

As a co-founder of High Limit Racing, Larson detailed the series’ growth, which expanded from 11 races in its inception to 61 races in 2024. The series has become a staple in grassroots motorsports, offering higher payouts and opportunities for teams and drivers. “We want to make racing healthier for everyone involved—teams, drivers, and fans,” Larson explained. “The response from fans and competitors has been incredible, and we’re excited to build on that momentum.”

High Limit’s efforts to enhance safety and increase prize money have set a new standard. Larson highlighted plans to further innovate and grow the series in 2025, starting with marquee events like the $100,000-to-win sprint car race in Perth, Australia.

Pushing Limits: The Double Duty Challenge

One of Larson’s boldest endeavors in 2024 was his attempt at the “Double,” competing in the Indianapolis 500 and NASCAR’s Coca-Cola 600 on the same day. Despite weather-related setbacks, Larson described the experience as exhilarating and is determined to try again in 2025. “I didn’t fully complete the Double, so I have unfinished business,” Larson stated. “The logistics were challenging, but the support from fans and Hendrick Motorsports was incredible.”

Grassroots Racing’s Thriving Health

Larson praised the growth of grassroots racing, fueled by live streaming and increased fan engagement. “Wing sprint car racing, dirt late models, and other grassroots series are thriving,” he noted. “The competition, purses, and fan turnout are better than ever.”

Looking Ahead

With plans to race globally and continue supporting his High Limit Racing series, Larson’s 2025 schedule is packed. From competing in Australia’s largest-paying sprint car race to mentoring his son, Owen, in his budding racing career, Larson remains committed to leaving a lasting legacy. “Motorsports is my life,” he said. “I’m excited about the opportunities ahead and grateful for the chance to keep pushing boundaries.”
