Women in Motorsports North America (WIMNA) Shines at EPARTRADE’s 5th Annual Race Industry Week

Cindy Sisson, Executive Director of Women in Motorsports North America (WIMNA), shared the organization’s impactful journey and plans for the future during EPARTRADE’s 5th Annual Race Industry Week. Highlighting the organization’s mission to advance, connect, and enable women in motorsports, Sisson discussed key programs, partnerships, and the upcoming Women With Drive Summit in Indianapolis.

About WIMNA: A Resource for All in Motorsports

Founded in 2021 by legendary racer Lynn St. James and IndyCar team owner Beth Paretta, WIMNA is a groundbreaking organization dedicated to growing motorsports by representing 52% of the population—women. However, as Sisson emphasized, WIMNA’s mission isn’t exclusive to women; it actively engages men as allies to foster inclusivity and growth across all motorsports disciplines.

“We’re not here to change motorsports but to grow it,” Sisson explained. “WIMNA is a resource for men and women alike, connecting them to opportunities, mentorship, and a thriving community.”

Key Initiatives Driving Impact

WIMNA has launched several initiatives that have already made a significant mark on the industry:

  1. AccelerateHER Program

Funded by Busch Light, this contingency fund has awarded nearly $400,000 over two years to women in NASCAR. WIMNA aims to expand this model across all motorsports disciplines and age groups.

  2. Shero Award

Recognizing outstanding contributions by women in motorsports, this award has gained prestige thanks to partnerships with Jostens and AdventHealth.

  3. Electrify Your Career in Motorsports

In collaboration with Bosch, this program has hosted five events, introducing high school and college students to careers in the evolving motorsports industry.

  4. Taylor Swift Helmet Auction

A creative fundraising initiative, this campaign garnered over 2.3 billion media impressions and raised $25,000 through auctions and sweepstakes.

Women With Drive Summit: Advancing the Mission

WIMNA’s flagship event, the Women With Drive Summit, enters its fourth year on December 10-11 at the Indianapolis Convention Center, leading into the PRI Show. With over 500 attendees expected, this year’s summit will feature:

Keynote Speakers and Panels
Featuring 70+ speakers and industry leaders sharing insights on motorsports careers and community growth.

Networking and Professional Development
Including speed networking sessions, scholarship awards, and free headshots provided by Coforce.

Exhibits and Experiences
Highlights include the Taylor Swift-inspired IndyCar and helmet, as well as live demonstrations by SoundGear.
“The summit is all about connection and growth,” Sisson said. “It’s an opportunity for men and women in motorsports to unite, share ideas, and advance together.”

Looking Ahead

As WIMNA continues to expand, Sisson remains focused on creating meaningful opportunities. “God put me on this planet to make a difference in people’s lives,” she shared. “Seeing women gain internships, jobs, and mentorships through our efforts is the greatest reward.”

With plans to explore partnerships for an expanded contingency fund and deepen its global collaborations, WIMNA is poised to amplify its impact even further in 2025.
